This Steca Tarom M-Type 60A MPPT charge controller sets unprecedented standards in the field of Maximum Power Point trackers. Due to its continued outstanding achievements in the solar industry, it was awarded the renowned OTTI Innovation Prize and the Intersolar Award in 2014. With two independent MPP trackers and two solar inputs, this MPPT controller can easily handle two different solar module arrays of varying sizes.
The controller is designed to protect batteries whilst charging them, providing automatic cut off to prevent over-charging and deep discharge. It comes with an automatic electronic fuse and a full range of electronic protection functions, including protection against: overload, short circuit, high voltage, reverse polarity, high temperature, lightning and transient surges, reverse current at night.
This M-Type model has the ability to communicate with up to 22 Steca Tarom MPPT S-Type controllers in one network (connected to the same battery bank), offering possibilities for system expansion at a later date. When multiple S-type controllers are connected, this controller will intelligently synchronise their actions and charging stages to ensure that a safe and stable voltage is maintained accross the entire system, regardless of varying cable lengths.
